Hi please could you recommend your dog drying coats? I wanted to order one today but there's more choice out there than I thought and I gave up! It's for a golden retriever. Not that bothered by price, just want it to be good quality and last well. Thanks!

Ruff and Tumble - excellent quality and a lot of absorbency. They fit well, and have a collar that can come up over their ears.

You can also really absorbent drying cloths which you have to keep damp, in a special plastic container. I have one in the car and it's handy for wiping off the worst when the dogs have been swimming. It's amazing how much you can wrong out of them.

My older dog hates his ruff and tumble coat, he doesn't like his back legs having the loops around.

I splurged and got them both a Ruffwear climate changer fleece jacket - it's a dream to get on and off with a zip, and really helps dry their coats off. Our sprocker is like a woolly mammoth at the moment and her coat takes forever to dry without her fleece on. They're both wearing them today after a swim in the floods this morning Hmm

I just got a cheap £20 one from Amazon. Seems just as good as the expensive brands and washes really well too :)

Ruff & Tumble here. Can't fault it - just wish they'd do a massive onesie to deal with wet paws!

I have a golden retriever and would also recommend Ruff and Tumble, I have the old style ones without the leg straps, it is at least 3 years old and gets heavy use as she is a mud magnet and lies in puddles at every opportunity.

Thank you for replies, a few options to look at Smile

I did wonder about the loops on the ruff and tumble ones but suppose won't know until we try it whether she is happy in it and it does look like it would stay put.

@EdithStourton yes I've got one of those drying cloths, they work so well! I need to get a spare actually.

We have a cheap Amazon job too @fairylightsandwaxmelts, couldn't justify Ruff and Tumble prices for something that we would be using for keeping the inside of the car and hallway clean.

It is brilliant and I wish I had twigged on to them sooner. It secures with velcro and wraps around her. It dries really quickly too.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 01/03/2022 20:05

Yeah, ours does too @Idratherhaveacuppa :)

Like you, I couldn't justify the price of Ruff and Tumble - surely they're all just microfibre towels? I don't really see why some are about £50 when others are £20, lol.

Sgtmajormummy · 01/03/2022 20:15

We use a microfiber bag which covers the dog’s feet and just cuddle DDog dry!
