Had to say goodbye today

Had to say goodbye to one of our faithful friends this morning. He was nearly 13, and we had bad news last week on his health. Came away for the weekend to give him one last weekend by the sea but he was too poorly this morning and we had to take him to the vet to let him go gently.

He had a beautiful life but it's still incredibly sad to say goodbye.

No point to this thread just wanted to share him.

I am so sorry for your loss.He looks a gorgeous boy.i think,grieving for a pet is the hardest thing in life.when we go through difficult times in our life,there was always our trusted 4legged friend who consoled and never judged.my heart goes out for you.you know,you have given the very best of live to him and hopefully this can give you some comfort.

There is absolutely a reason for you to post,if it's cathartic for you I hope it is. Been through this too many times than I care to remember,it's horrible. Dogs, cats, chicken. My oldest,over 6 foot tall son,cried his eyes out, when he had to have a pet rat with breathing problems put to sleep.He is a handsome boy,can you share his name?

the most traumatic death we had to deal with was DDs pet rat - multiple dogs, cats, birds,rabbits, G.pigs, hamsters - but this rat trumped the lot.

Oh I'm so sorry for you. He looks beautiful. I also lost a beautiful spaniel recently.....you made his life wonderful and looked afterhim to the end. You were the best for him and still are for your others. xx
