Anti anxiety beds

I see these on Facebook all the time - promising the Earth.

Our problem is one of our dogs barks in the night. It's usually at foxes outside but annoying nonetheless. She quietens down if my husband sleeps on the sofa with her. We have a thunder shirt which we might try again but haven't tried changing her bed.

Her bed is just a duvet folded up. I wondered about one of those beds that she'd 'sink' into a bit more.

It's not a huge issue at all, and we've had plug ins, collars and stuff in the past for fireworks etc and I don't rate them.

Any recommendations for a good dog bed? She's a mongrel disguised as a beagle (rescue).

If she reacts to noise, I'd be tempted to drown put the noise to bh honest. Smart speaker (or similar) playing ambient noise through the night - e.g. thunderstroms (obviously no good if she doesn't like thunderstorms but other sounds are available, such as waterfalls etc).

If I changed the bed, I'd be looking more at something that blocked out the noise, such as something 'cave' shaped she could curl up in that might reduce how much outside noise she hears.

Thankyou. We have a crate that we could bring out of the shed and put white noise on nearby.

I think she has excellent hearing tbh and is always going to react to foxes in the night.

I dont think,a bed will make any difference to the barking.it sounds a behavioural problem and you have to get some advice from a behaviourist to sort the problem.she has "trained" you, that unless she can sleep on the settee with a human, she will bark.the bed(I guarantee you) wont make a blind bit of difference.you need to put some work into sorting the issue.

Thanks. I her what you're saying. It's like a crying baby though, you want to make sure you've covered all bases first.

Weirdly, my anxious dog loves being shut in a crate at night as apparently then everything outside the crate is our problem and he can actually relax. Before he was barking at foxes, getting up to patrol the house etc. Now he comes to tell us to shut him in

We have an anxious dog. She loves getting tucked in. She has a memory foam bed with a king sized duvet folded into 4. She gets under half the duvet and is often there in the morning still.
