Indestructible but interesting toys

Cocker spaniel (3yrs) loves toys but often destroys them within minutes, with the exception of a very cheap squeaky ball that he could easily destroy but keeps safe and loves it and a rope toy we play tug with. I give him occasional yak bones or antlers. Any ideas for a toy that will hold his interest but that is tough and likely to last longer than a few mins.

Can't help but have a similar issue. Bought my boy one of those supposedly very tough treat dispenser balls to occupy him. He destroyed it in 2 minutes.

FernieB my shortest lasting toy was one that I gave him as I was unpacking one bag of shopping and it was in bits by the time I’d shut the fridge door!

Mines a setter so similar in nature to a cocker spaniel. He used to have loads of soft toys but they all perished during a wild murderous week. I've since got him rope toys. They seem to last a bit longer.

What is it with spaniels and balls! Nearly every spaniel I meet (and there's a lot round here) walks with a ball in their mouth. This morning Ferniedog was woofed at by a spaniel whilst he was holding his ball.

My Cocker is the same. Honestly, any kind of plush toy is destroyed within half an hour or less.

Kong make toys that have ropes inside. They last pretty well with mine. Any kind of rope toy, really. I try to pick different shapes and styles to keep his interest, rather than just the standard one rope, two knots kind of thing.

Also, those SportsPet High Bounce balls. My dog loves those and they're hard rubber, so difficult to destroy. He just runs around throwing them everywhere, and they bounce really high so keep his interest.

Kong Jumbler ball is good too (tennis ball inside a bigger plastic wobbler ball thing).

Also, Kong Lock-It balls. They keep my dog busy for half an hour if I shove a cocktail sausage sideways inside each one :D or freeze stuff inside them.

Fluff and tuff and the strongest we've used. They are soft toys with squeakers. Much stronger than kongs imo. Quite pricey but the couple we have, have lasted 2 years and are still going strong.

I completely gave up with toys for my beagle. Even the super strong stuff he will destroy in minutes Hmm

He gets natural chews now - they last up to an hour sometimes and I don't have to worry about him swallowing anything dangerous as it's all natural anyway.

He loves cows hooves (they last months), beef skins, buffalo skins, pizzles and ostrich braids the most.

For my border terrier, cheap kids soft toys from the charity shop last much longer than exxy pet shop soft toys. However, SandyDog isn’t the biggest chewer of toys.
