Toilet training troubles

I have a 3 month old puppy. I have 2 issues and would love any help please!

1.) He gets distracted in the garden, playing with every leaf and blade of grass. Even with gentle redirection, he won’t go. He’ll happily play outside for ages and I often know he needs to wee because it’s been ages. Then we have accidents inside.

2.) when there are wee accidents inside, I was recommended this cleaner (see pic) and straight away after I clean up the wee with this spray, he poos on top of where I’ve cleaned. Shall I use a different spray?

Overall, it’s not awful. Think he’s getting there but could appreciate any input on those issues please. Thanks!

Have you got a word to teach him to associate with a wee? I say be good and ddog goes. I used to say it every time she did a wee for a while and now she knows. At that age wee trips were also always on a lead, and often, with rewards. I remember standing in the freezing cold for 20 minutes sometimes waiting, I wouldn't go in or take lead off until we've done the business. Also crate trained until she was toilet trained and out of teething. It takes time, lots of time, and patience, lots of patience, but you'll get there Gin

Thank you so much. :) He’s a lovely, bright dog but whenever I get a new dog, I forgot how rubbish it is to toilet train. Especially in winter!
I think we do need to only go out on the lead and then once he’s gone, playtime!
He has a cue word. I’m sure we’ll get there.

Also look at the bells you can hook onto the door. Jangle them every time you go for wees. After a bit of that the dog should Jangle the bells when he wants to go for a wee. It sort of worked for us, but a couple more months of age on and the bells got pulled off and dragged round as a game, but I'd taught her to speak by then so got her to woof every time she was at the door instead. Worth looking at though. Have a read of the reviews

Oo thanks! You know what, I was wondering if I should try these bells. The first week of toilet training was fine but he’s definitely regressed a bit so I need to try something new.
