some people ripped a strip off me... some understood ethical breeding. As an owner of standard poodles for over 18 years now , I am sick of designer doodles. It is killing the real standard poodle lines. I am so very pleased to say, that our Gracie gave a fantastic litter, now has been fixed as our breeder is very much a one and done for her guardian homes.. I had the choice of my money back that i paid for grace...or pick of litter. Meet Mr Oliver

What gorgeous dogs - I'm
In love with your sheep ❤️🥰

Your poodles are amazing op! Better than the highly priced mongrels that are being created based on a poodle... Just get a bloody poodle and stop messing with breeding!
My aunt had a huge standard poodle called Mandy many years ago!! A huge white elegant ddog!!

Ignore all the people moaning about rescue dogs OP. I’ve just had a litter from my Vizsla girl, fully health tested and proven in the show ring and as a working dog, with the sire being a fully health tested Hungarian Champion show dog who also works to the gun. I’m keeping one for myself.
All the puppies had homes before they were conceived. All except one are going to showing and working homes. The exception is going to a friend who already has a Vizsla.
None of the people who are having a puppy would have rescued a mongrel. The breed is hardly ever in rescues and when they are the breed rescue is alerted straight away as they have 100+ applications for every dog they get in.
Apart from the fact that if we want different dog breeds we have to maintain breed standards, people are allowed to have preferences and to spend money to accommodate those preferences.
Your poodle would probably be a great retriever from water and on land, that’s what his ancestry dictates, but he wouldn’t hold a point at a pheasant, flush on command and then sit until he was sent for it because he’s not an HPR.

Beautiful! I’m hoping to have a standard poodle one day (unless another dog finds us first!).

Glentheredbeakbattleostrich · 15/12/2021 13:26

I would love a poodle. I have a (rescue) cockapoo and adore her, she is more poodle than anything and when it's time for pooch no 2 I want a poodle or another poo, depending on what the rescue has!!

I do see what you are saying about the breed line being kept but what i find appalling is the way the dogs are often made ill to look a certain way (german shepherd sloped back, bull dog squashed face).

@AvDemeisen

What a great looking pup! I love seeing standards out and about, quite rare these days. Are they very high energy?
they are actually quite lazy lol. They love a good run in the garden, or a nice walk , but they prefer to be inside with us. Right now my Gracie is sleeping behind my chair and my Oliver is passed out on his back with his legs splayed in a very ungentlemanly way!
