Puppy problems.. help 😩

Our pup is nearly 11 weeks old now. And she’s started waking up at 4am on the dot. I take her out for a wee and try and put her back to bed but she just barks. Then my dh wakes up at 5 for work so she messes about then. I then end up having to get up at 5.30 and feeding her, if she sees the cat she won’t stop barking until the cat makes her escape out. She’s then on the go until 8.30 ish.

Also, she really really isn’t getting weeing outside. She’s only had 3 poo accidents inside but she has about 10/15 accidents a day inside. I take her out every 15 mins, after food, after drink, after play, when she wakes up etc and she will se outside so we have a party. As soon as we get inside she will wee again, usually it’s only a tiny bit. She literally shows jo signs she wants to go, she just looks like she’s sat and then she wees. I’m cleaning it with the proper stuff but the house still smells and so does she. Iv gave her a bath but it makes no difference lol.

Will it just click one day? When we go for walks she wees loads. I don’t understand how she can wee so much lol

If you know she will wee again straight after coming in can you hold her, sit her on your lap for 5 minutes and then take her out again to empty the tank? Obviously more difficult if she's a great dane but if you know there is a pattern to her weeing inside then theoretically it should be easier to prevent it

If she’s only weeing small amounts and when sitting down then it could be a urine infection, particularly if she’s smelly too? Might be wise to get the vet to check her out.

My mini schnauzer is about 4.5 mths now but I remember 3 or 4 weeks after I brought her home she seemed to go backwards with the pee training & we had SO many accidents again like in the 1st week or so.
I knew I shouldn't get cross with her but I would wait ages, saying the pee "cue words" & she would play & explore & Nothing !! ...then come back in & pee indoors.

She also has a tiny pee, her excited pee when we have visitors & shes so happy with the attention. We're trying to ignore her until after we're inside properly so is your pup maybe just too excited to hold all the wee in.

Good luck - it will click soon. (Ours now runs to the door when she wants to go out, plus can hold on a bit longer than those early times, like every 15 mins) Flowers

Thanks all! I’m going to get her a vet appointment.

It’s driving me absolutely insane. She’s weeing everywhere, even in her crate. She just shows absolutely no signs she wants to go. Iv bought some bells snd she rings them but just to go out and play!

It sounds like she needs the vet - constant weeing isn't normal and could signify a UTI. If she has an infection she's likely in pain and will pee on the carpet as it's softer and more comfortable. Not nice for you though, I know!

Re. sleeping where does she sleep and what are the arrangements? Crate? Bed? Is it covered? Could the boiler clicking on or something be disturbing her if it's set to go on before DH gets up? Can you separate her and the cat completely overnight and in the morning?

Good luck Smile

You don't say what breed, but... My toy poodle, now 4 and a half, peed all the time. She was tested for a uti but was fine. I think it was just because she was so tiny with a tiny bladder. It improved as she grew, and by 6 months or so she was peeing at more sensible intervals. I have now got another small breed puppy (a very small yorkie) and the same, he pees a lot, but now he's 5 months its gradually improving.

It would be sensible to restrict your puppy to hard floored areas so you can mop up straight away, this should prevent any smell. I have only recently put the rugs back down downstairs - they had been up since early July when the puppy arrived.
Dogs love routine, and I am sure yours will settle down when they get the hang of your domestic arrangements - it's early days yet. I am a bit surprised at your walks though. At 11 weeks a puppy is not usually fully vaccinated, and should only be walking for very short periods on the lead anyway.
