Canine Epilepsy

DDog was diagnosed with epilepsy 2 years ago aged 6.
With meds we have managed to control his seizures to every 2-3 months. These are cluster seizures, approx 4-5 fits in a 24-36 hour period. They are violent grand-mal seizures and awful to see.
Four weeks ago he had a really awful period, where he was fitting twice per day for a week, Vet upped his meds (pexion) and he hasn't had one for two weeks. Unfortunately the behavioural changes which usually disappear after a day or two are still there. For example, when he is awake there is lots of whining, on edge and anxious, drooling, frequent urination (waking us up through the night for toileting). Since his increase in meds he is a lot sleepier and doesn't show an interest in the things he loved, eg playing football in the garden, chasing everything, cuddles with the children. I believe he is still having focal seizures a couple of times per week.

Do we just need to give the higher dose a bit more time or could it be something else?

I don't know the answer to your question but just wanted to show some solidarity. Our puppy has epilepsy and it's a difficult and often lonely journey. Flowers
