Greyhound boots

Hello, advice please we have a 5 year old greyhound that we adopted and he is having problems with his paws. We would like to buy him some greyhound booties for his two front paws, we need ones specific to sight hounds. Any advice? Recommendations? Many we've looked at have poor reviews or are expensive. Thank you

Well done for choosing a greyhound! I think it’s unusual for a greyhound to need boots. Have you talked to a vet about the problems with his paws? I don’t think anyone here can advise you without a bit more detail.

Thanks he is a lovely dog, in the time we've had him he's been to the vets twice. He is having surgery for a corn and the boots are to use after to try to prevent him getting another. Advice has been mixed some say yes to boots and others no.

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve no experience of boots, I hope someone else will be along to help. Do the vets suggest any reason why he should get another corn?
My first rehomed greyhound had to have a toe amputated - a recurring old racing injury, not uncommon. I just used a thick plastic bag over the dressing (held on with duct tape!) to go outside while he was recovering.

Yes apparently they often come back then require a different operation so we were going to use boots to try to prevent that

We bought these for my Lurcher when he had a wound on his front paw. They stayed on well and he was happy to walk in them.

They also make an active version which has more padding underneath, which might be better for corn prevention. My boy’s injury was on the top of his food/ankle.

I should add that he was a finely built Lurcher, with very slender ‘greyhoundy’ legs, so needed a slim fit and strong velcro. We bought them in a Large, but he did have a bandage on under his.

Thanks a lot they're very reasonably priced
