Advice please. Dog keeps weeing on my bed

My 2 year old chihuahua wees on my bed when ever he gets the chance! Only on my side of the bed by my pillows. Never my partners side or my children's beds. Only my side of the bed. He's fully house trained, we've had him since he was a puppy and doesn't have anxiety. He's loved and knows it. Any advice on why or how to stop him doing it?

Shut the door? Not being facetious ....its the only way. What time of day is he doing this? He probably needs to be taken outside to wee before that happens. I have a Frenchie and if she's not taken out at 6.00am on the dot, she pees on the carpet.

Personally I think Male chihuahuas are terrible for marking their territory and I would never have another.
I also have a female and she is no problem at all in regards to that, infact the breeder I got her off said she had a male and he was an absolute pain with marking everywhere.
I do wish I had taken that into consideration when I got my male.
My male goes through phases but he marks his own bed and it's an absolute pain.
Sorry I am not much help 🤦🏼‍♀️ just having a moan 😂

Stair gate - don't let him upstairs

Mine does it. But only on my partner’s side. The simple answer is that we don’t let him upstairs. It is the only way.

Is he intact?

Nogardenersworld · 17/08/2021 21:11

Stop letting him on your bed.

Tinkerbellfluffyboots79 · 17/08/2021 21:45

My cat would do this
We have no animals in the bedrooms as it’s grim if they soil on your bedding
Is he reliable otherwise if not you may need to reinforce toilet training outside.

I don't let him in the bedrooms and do shut doors to bedrooms but i live in a bungalow and my children always go in my room and forget to shut the door. He's not allowed on the beds and knows it. I just maybe thought he's doing it for a particular reason and trying to figure out what that is. Maybe he just likes my scent like someone has said. Or 'marking' his scent. He never does anything else anywhere else except the garden or on walks. Do you think getting him nurtured would help?

Yes! Definitely get him neutered.

My friend's whippet has started peeing on her actual leg. His balls are coming off pronto.

Why do your dc have to go in your bedroom? Can you put a stop to that (then door won't be left open)
