Ideas for our first holiday with our 7 month puppy

Hi we're looking for a holiday with our black Labrador pup who will be 7 months when we take a holiday and we'd love to have him with us.

Were thinking September early October
It's difficult finding any availability with Covid as nearly everyone is staying in the uk so I'm asking for ideas for where we can go that you'd recommend

We live in the landlocked Midlands so we'd like to be somewhere near the sea maybe Somerset or the North West. Near a village or small town with walks for puppy, pubs, cafes nearby, not too crowded, nice scenery and places to drive to. We've done Northumberland, north Norfolk coast, North Yorkshire, mid wales, north Wales the gower

We'd like a dog friendly cottage, lodges or B and B or hotels.

Any suggestions welcome

We went to Bournemouth. Stayed at a pet-friendly hotel by the beach. It was the most dog-friendly place I have ever been to. Dogs are welcome everywhere and there are some lovely walks in the area

Our puppy is almost 8 months old and we recently took him to Pembrokeshire. We are also taking him to forest holidays and the cotswolds in the next few months

Camping - anywhere really. I've been twice with ddog at 5 months and a year old. Last time a friend came with her 6 month old pup too. Just remember not to over exercise at this age. Pick somewhere with nice places on site or near by so you are doing strolls rather than hikes

Just following for ideas. We really want to start camping with our pup but not sure how she'd handle it. We had a tarp up in the garden and she chewed through the guylines in about 30 seconds.

Just on our way home from a holiday in Edinburgh with our 7 month pup. Stayed in the dog friendly Moxley in Fountainbridge (very central) with a splendid roof top bar with views of nearby Edinburgh castle and distant shores.

Spent the day on the beach yesterday but did lots of walking and sightseeing which our little legged lad has coped very well with.

We're off to London next week for a similar excursion

Mine isn't a chewer so we've not had that problem thankfully. I think I'd be more nervous taking a chewer to rented accommodation though.

We stayed in Pembrokeshire, about 20 mins drive from Fishguard, with our 8 month old cocker spaniel recently. Lots of lovely dogfriendly beaches to explore. We did a bit of the coastal walk but that was less fun for him as he had to stay on lead for safety, whereas the beaches were fab for zoomies.

We are going to Bamburgh in september in a lovely dog friendly house.

Great walks, the sea, lots to do-can't wait!!

There are specialist sites that recommend dog friendly accommodations which is where we found our house.

Easier after the schools go back!

Our pup doesn't chew anything in the house (beyond chew toys) but I think she considers anything in the garden fair game!

Norfolk is your place! So many dog friendly beaches, cafes, shops etc
North Norfolk is best for beautiful beaches and quieter sites & villages.

The Wild Boar in Crook (near Windermere) is a dog friendly hotel. Great rooms, food and scenery.

I've stayed in a cottage in North Norfolk with friends with dogs booked through this site before.

He'll maybe be fine then, perhaps sees the garden as his personal playground? You'd just need to supervise closely at first to know - start with a short trip

Woodlands lodge hotel in the New Forest. Dogs are made welcome, not just tolerated. Loads of beds in the bar, biscuit and treat bowl in reception, that sort of thing. Several pubs in walking distance, the whole area is very dog friendly, most places will welcome the pooch. Endless amazing walks. Easy drive to the beach.
