Moving house - dogs have diarrhoea? Different water?

DM and her two dogs moved house several hundred miles, 2 weeks ago. Both dogs are lab/springer crosses, and both have had somewhat upset tummies since. DM thinks this could be due to different tap water (gone from very hard to very soft). Could this really be the case?

Seems more likely to be stress?

That’s what I said. Maybe also snaffling some of my cat’s food.

The stress of the move is more likely.

Hmm, it could be the water. Some dogs have very sensitive stomachs and even the smallest change in diet can throw them off.

It could also be that the pipes or taps aren't particularly clean and there's a bug in the water.

I wouldn't rule it out especially as both dogs are affected and it's been going on for a considerable period of time.

Stress I suspect, give them chicken and rice for a few days and it will settle.

You can get a kaolin based probiotic from Pets@Home or Amazon, that generally works quickly and might help but after 2 weeks I would consider a trip to the vets.

Yes, that’s what we’ve been doing

The older dog was very under the weather last week and saw a vet who prescribed some

The house was lived in by a couple I know rifgr up until DM and the dogs moved in though.
