Durable dog chews

Can anyone recommend a brand that does ultra durable dog chews? I'm aware of Kong however looking for a bit more variety and also a bit more durable as my dogs have managed to destroy a few of those before. Dogs are around 35kg & 40kg. They have antlers which have stood the test of time but looking for some alternative options. Thank you in advance!

What kind of dog is it and what purpose are you looking for? As in, are you looking to leave the dog alone with something to chew? I only ask because one of mine was known as a ‘super chewer’ and to be perfectly honest I would have never him alone with anything, even supposedly safe chew toys and antlers, because his super chewing abilities were just too dangerous. On the other hand if you’re looking for something for them to chew when supervised, I would say the best thing my dogs, including the super chewer, loved was fresh raw marrowbone, or knuckle or, especially, full cattle leg.

Kept their teeth beautiful too, well in to their teens……

Deer antler. Lasts for ages. My dog loves hers. Fucking LOUD though! Hmm

I’m stupid. I speed read your post and see you already have antlers!

Thank you all!! It will be supervised chewing, they are almost 6 so well past the destructive age. I just feel like every toy/chew I buy ends up destroyed within minutes by my boy! They are quite happy chilling outside of an evening as they go out on a group walk daily but I just feel like they need something to keep them occupied rather than just chilling with mumGrin

Dog mango, it is really hardy and you can put very small treats inside

Large carrots of cabbage hearts.... Our ddogs are proper veg fiends!!

Wombat36 · 14/07/2021 21:23

Also sprouts.

Our dog destroyed her teeth on harder things & tennis balls.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Carrots last about 20 seconds 🤣 he's never been a destructive chewer but he can't half get through a toy in record time!

Won't suggest pumpkin... Ddog snapped a tooth. While they were in there they found another 7 needing pulled out!! £800!
Ours also love broccoli stalks!

My dog (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) has a zogoflex durable dog bone which has withstood the test of time. She's had it three years now and it's only just starting to show some weak spots.
She also loves her Vanfine Red Cuboid. She has bitten some of the knobbly bits off but it's still intact.

The chuckit ultra durable balls are still going strong aswell. She chews those like mad and we have had those about 6 years now! Her newest toy is the Kronos 9 Sphere and that's still looking immaculate 4 weeks later.

warmfluffytowels · 15/07/2021 08:20

What about natural chews? I never use rubber toys with mine because they don't last and he starts eating the toy in frustration Hmm

Things like stuffed trachea or stuffed cows hooves can both be frozen so they last longer, or meats like ostrich are good too - ostrich braids, braided beef pizzles, buffalo skins and cows ears - all those can last mine over an hour if they're large enough Smile

Thank you so much everyone, some great suggestions to try out!
