Hello

My vet has recommended BingleWoof has a scale did polish. Does anyone know if this covered by petplan or does it count as routine care? Thd website isn't clear.

Thanks

I'd imagine it wouldn't be covered.

I've discovered In the last two years that most insurance policies aren't worth the paper they are written on Hmm

I've found them very good in the past - we've had numerous claims as he's an accident prone idiot! Sorry you've not found the same.

Unlike most insurers Petplan do cover dental illness and injuries (I’ve had two dogs have dental treatment paid in full). But a scale and polish is a preventative treatment (like vaccination, flea treatment, worming etc) and no policy will cover those things.

I have a life cover with petplan and mine has paid out recently for a scale and polish but it had to be recommended by the vet.

There are T&Cs in my policy where they only cover dental claims if the vet has assessed their teeth in the last 12 months prior to the claim which we were covered by as mine gets a full health check every 6 months.

Petplan paid for my dog as there was a build up of plaque and tarter that my vet recommended needed removing.

Thanks. I think the answer is to give them a call and see what they say. Hopefully because the vet recommends it they will give the go ahead.
