So I'll start by saying this 16 week old pup has had aher first rough start to her life... Her first owner have her up at 14 weeks so the past two weeks she was passed around two other different homes before coming to us on Saturday.

So it's obviously very early days and for the most part she's a lovely little thing.. But she keeps being so rough and Pretty aggressive with my gorgeous natured 1.5 year old rescue terrier mongrel.
She will constantly try to bite at her face and launch herself at her while growling.
Older dog normally then retaliates and for the most part it looks like they're playing but sometimes one ends up yelping.

I've never had two dogs before so not actually sure what is a normal level of play but it looks Pretty savage to me!

Just feeling a bit down as tried to do a nice thing by giving this poor little thing a home but my rescue dog had her life turned upside down and I'm feeling so guilty now.

Do your dogs have crates? Can you crate the puppy sometimes to give your older dog a break? And do the reverse, providing a sanctuary for older DD whilst you train, play with and run the energy out of the pup?

Our dog loves his crate, it's under the end of the dining room table so it's his happy, quiet place away from it all but still close by us.

Yes little one has a crate and she does settle in there very well and older dog has the stair gated kitchen she can chill in with her bed.

It doesn't sound bad to me- it's good your older dog is telling her off. That's how they learn.

Plus it's early days- line children they aren't going to be best friends all the time, and they will have their moments together.

Just keep an eye on it. Try and distract the pup if it's getting too much. Maybe also speak to a behaviourist for advice as well (about this but in general too).

Good luck.
