My dog tiptoes at night

She's a boisterous heavy pawed noisy thing by day.

At night we let her up to our room for a bit whilst we watch tv before bed.

She's seen that we tiptoe upstairs because of the baby being asleep and she creeps ever so quietly up the stairs and past the babies room.

Just had to share.

I love dogs

My dad brought home a rescue GSD. I say rescue, he was out with the RSPCA, scooped said dog up and brought it straight home
Almighty argument with my mum as I was only a child "what are you doing bringing a dog home, it'll be massive, it could be aggressive, we have a CHILD"
Dog by this point had vanished, clambered over the stair gate into my room and plonked herself at the bottom of my bed and glared at anyone coming near
Mum "FINE. It can stay"

A few years later my grandad was pushing me on the swing, and I was screaming (probably about 6yo)
Dog heard me, jumped off a first floor balcony, landed on the patio, broke her leg and still dragged herself over to bite my grandad. She was so, so protective of me. I used to walk her alone even when very small as nobody would have been able to get near me

This has made me smile so much!

I often go to bed before DH with my little doggie in tow, as soon as she hears DH getting up from the sofa to come up she will run out to the top of the stairs growling but with her wee tail wagging at the same time. Its so cute we don't scold her as I think she thinks its a game now

@Winecrispschocolatecats I grew up with a dog who used to do this too - and then everyone morning would barge into our rooms, we'd get a wet nose and a huff into our faces, to make sure we were still ok Grin loved him to bits!

@whoami24601

I had a Labrador x growing up. We got her when I was 2 so I was like her little baby and she would always protect me from the big kids and look after me. She was not allowed upstairs and would never ever go there (even though the stairs were open plan and no physical barrier was put there). Me and my sister used to spend hours trying to coax her up with dog biscuits but she wouldn't go further than the bottom step. When I was about 9 I developed epilepsy and started having seizures. Always in bed at night. After a while, one night I looked down out of my cabin bed to see her curled up in the corner of my bedroom. She took to sleeping in there (coming up once everyone was asleep and going down again before everyone woke in the morning) every night to look after me. She just knew I needed her. She had to be put down when I was 16 and I still miss her Sad
Amazing ♥️
