Visiting puppy at breeder’s house

I’d really like to take something, (cake for breeder’s family and something for the puppies/mum.) Are there home made dog treats they could have at six weeks? A toy?

Give me ideas please! Breeder has been really helpful and generous with video calls starting name recognition and I want to show appreciation. She’s gone above and beyond.

I’d get toys rather than anything to eat that they aren’t used to. You can get specific puppy toys, Pets at Home usually have a good selection.
Speaking as a breeder.

I really don't think I'd bother, you're paying them presumably so they're doing their job. I don't mean that in a snarky way, I just mean that I wouldn't really want to take homemade food (for humans or dogs) from someone who is essentially a customer/client. If you really must, I'd take a shop-bought packet of biscuits for the breeder and a puppy toy for the dog.

I wouldn't take anything.

If you feel the need, you could get some flowers or wine when you go and collect your pup to bring them home, but at six weeks I wouldn't bother.

We took a rope toy for puppy to play with while we were there; we took it home with us afterwards so the cats could sniff it and the petty cat peed on it
It was quite good having a toy as puppy teeth are sharp, so it kept him from nibbling my hands!

Given the price of puppies at the moment, I would have thought that's more then enough as a 'thank you' !

Can you take a blanket for the pup to leave with mum so that when you collect him you have something with her smell on it? I forgot when we went to choose our pup and ended up leaving a scarf.

It never occurred to me to take anything for the breeder when we went to see the litter but I did send a card when he was 6 months old ostensibly to his mum for Mother's Day with photos of him over the months and a few lines about his favourite things.

The breeder was obviously as daft as me because she texted me with photos of his mum, with the card, and a note saying that she and his dad were glad he was such a good boy and she hoped that we might be able to meet up when regulations allow!
