Any ideas for low cal Kong fillers?
Ddog needs something to do in the mornings.
She's a bit on the tubby size and is allergic to rice and wheat.

Yoghurt and veg

AvantGardening · 28/05/2021 07:23

Sweet potato. Butternut squash.

My tubby Labrador is a fan of mashed veg such as carrots or butternut squash with bits of shredded roast chicken mixed in. Sometimes I will block the end with a bit of carrot and then fill it with chicken broth with veg and chicken pieces in it and then freeze it. Take the carrot out once frozen and I never leave her unattended with these ones but she loves it. She is a bit strange and also loves ice cubes though.

Probably should have specified if you do the chicken/bone broth one you need to make it yourself so you can be sure theirs not huge amounts of salt in it.

Banana?

I use one laughing cow (low fat) cheese triangle and add a bit of his kibble into it. He loves it

I cook loads of courgette and carrot and blend in the nutribullet and then mix in pieces of cooked liver.

I use one of those treat balls though and fill the hole in the middle and then stuff food into all the grippy bits too. I then put in an old houmous tub and freeze it. I can get a 40 min workout done without any whining that way!!

solvendie · 29/05/2021 09:07

I use yogurt, banana, butternut squash and pumpkin then freeze it. The dog loves it.

I also stick bits of sausage in the top so it looks like a flake ice-cream Grin

You could try a lickimat too, pour on gravy and freeze.

housecoat1968 · 29/05/2021 11:38

She usually turns her nose up at fruit and veg (wonder why she's tubby 🤔) but I think blending them with meaty things is the way forward.

rikakno · 29/05/2021 23:28

Sorry to hijack your thred op but anyone have any ideas what I can put in a 9 week old puppy's kong please?

Pinchoftums · 29/05/2021 23:31

If they are fat use a bit of their main meal and add water and mush it.
