String dog chew toys?

Can anyone recommend long lasting toys for a big chewer or good edible chew items? He loves a puzzle but struggled to buy them lately. Could not face a trachea 😷 and yak chews are ok but he's gone off them a bit. He seems bored of antlers and pigs ears. I tried a furry cow ear but DH freaked (and I'm the veggie here)
He seems to relax when he chews and it keeps him entertained while I'm working (WFH before anyone thinks he is left alone)
A friend in Sweden had a cool leather/ rope toy but I can't find one over here but I'm likely missing some artisan/ lesser known maker. He killed his tuff enough toy! Clearly not tough at all!

Watching with interest.

I need a strong chew for a tiny dog with jaws of steel.

A large carrot or broccoli stalk or cauliflower base. A bit messy but harmless when they eat it. We had a lab that used to eat a carrot or two a day. Kept her busy

Wolfiefan · 26/05/2021 22:22

The rope toys can be a hazard. Dogs can ingest some.
Honestly if he has pizzle (penis) then couldn’t you manage trachea?
We use raw bones too.
Antlers or chew roots.
Anything even slightly grim is fed in the garden!!

Typo in thread title - should have said strong not string. Trachea made me shudder when I touched it. I was going to buy it but urgh. I felt the ridges and recoiled! Not sure why pizzle was different. It was a small- ish one with no discernible penile features mind you 🤣. Maybe I'm just at ease with willy?! He won't touch carrot or broccoli- i think the kids warned him off! He's destroyed two pets at home sausage strings and various rope/ rubber ring toys- granted the rings are still here. It's the destruction he likes. Thank goodness he doesn't chew sofa/ shoes cushions and knows the word toy. So far!

Not me selling them

Polkapup · 26/05/2021 22:37

I've got loads of karate belts! Not personally - no exams done by me (headings?) but got the belts. Wonder if ghee sew or know the ends ?

I do karate 😁 but I don't have a dog!!

We have a strong chewer. A pizzle or antler is devoured - I had to take her antler off her after an hour because she had eaten nearly all of it.
We got a box of natural treats and even the deer leg didn't last very long.
She has a nylabone, the xl one for extreme chewers but I limit her time with it because she chews so intensely that I worry for her teeth and gums.
I wanted something she could chew when she wanted but she seems to take on anything new as a challenge so I haven't found the right thing yet!
My old boy had his antler for ages. Probably years. He just carried it around like his best thing!

Bebecomeback · 26/05/2021 22:44

@Wolfiefan we got a paddy whack with our box of dried treats. Urgh. She loved it (lasted the longest so far) but the smell! And that was outside.
Made the kids disappear though, so there is that...

Polkapup · 28/05/2021 22:47

We have got a paddy whack though not sure where from. He loves it. It's going down fast though! I'll have to dig out the karate belts!! He killed a "Kevin the carrot" toy last night though did remove his jumper first - mark of respect?
