Food for convalescing dog

My goodest boy got attacked this week by an off lead dog, he is 14 years old, deaf and completely blind, it's been an awful few days. He's a rescue dog and came to us hugely overweight so we've been making slow progress Anyway the vet said he could do with losing a bit more weight and now walks are out of the question whilst he heals, he should be on crate rest but he does so little when not on a walk there's not much point in him being in a crate.

Anyway he's currently on chappie wet food as when he came to us he had pancreatitis and he has lost a bit of weight on it but not a whole lot. His pancreatitis has stabled on it though so I'm not too bothered but is there a better food he could be on whilst we're getting him over his attack?

I would be disinclined to change his food, especially if he is susceptible to pancreatitis.

@LEMtheoriginal that's a fair point. Do you think I should reduce his portion and increase veggies?

Scrambled eggs - no milk.
Boiled chicken.
Boiled rice.

Id keep it much the same if his appetite is there.

If he is convalescing from physical injuries rather than stomach issues I would keep his food the same so as not to cause any other issues. However given his age and physical health if you think time maybe isn't on his side give him what he likes. When our ddog was old and ill he got all his favourites, fish and chips, Maccy Ds etc
