Transferring Petplan

Has anyone ever dealt with transferring a petplan policy?

I've spoken to them and apparently it's straightforward, except I need to ask my exH to start the process so I need to be 100% sure before I get him involved.

I pay for the policy, the address is the same, it's just a name change effectively, but I'd like the policy in my name so there's no issues with future changes of address etc.

I'm tempted to get DP to call and do it rather than contacting my exH which shows how much I really don't want to involve him.

Anyway, has anyone done it and how did it go?

Just be aware that if the company ever found out that someone had impersonated the policy holder to get it changed, then that can void the policy.

I don't think you have any choice other than to follow Petpan's procedures. I've not done thus, but have found them to be administratively reliable in general

I phoned petplan while ex was present so they confirmed the change with ex and then ran through all the policy guff with me and changed over bank details, I was already named as a joint policy holder.
Not sure if something can alter via the petplan portal I've only used few times it since vets can no longer do the claim forms.

I'm going to get DD to speak to my ex, I just don't trust him not to be awkward and mess up the cover.

It's effectively just a change of name, my address is on the policy and I pay the premium. I've spoken to their customer services department and in theory it's straightforward.

I wouldn't actually ever do that, tempting though it is, there are so many things like this that are so difficult when you can't communicate directly with an exH/exW.
