Seizures

Anyone know anything about them?
Our 7 year old lurcher had her first seizure about 3 years ago. At the time we took her to the vet who immediately wanted to do £3k worth of investigations- we spoke to the rescue she came from as it seemed excessive and they advised to watch and wait, and try medication if they got worse. The vet agreed. Since then she may have had one per 8-10 months, no urination, last about 5-10 mins, fine after. So haven't pursued treatment. But in the last 3 weeks she has had one per week. I'm taking her to the vet later - any tips or advice?

It depends on what type of seizures they are. One of my dogs has epilepsy medication is available. If your dog has a fit the most important think is to move anything dangerous around the dog away incase they hurt themselves If they paddle. Also don't talk to them just leave them to come out of the fit. You will need to find out whether its epilepsy or not. Tablets cost me £30 per month for epilepsy and my dogs big. Write down when he has fits to see if there's a pattern to his fits.
