I need to muzzle my Dalmatian as she eats anything she finds and instantly gives herself an upset stomach. I tried before and I got a muzzle but it was hard plastic and although it fitted her it rubbed her nose.
I saw some really nice soft either leather or silicone ones but I can't remember where, they were expensive and I remember thinking if she gets on with it I'll get one, then we gave up.
Does anyone have any good recommendations?
I thought she might grown out of it but she hasn't.

On a walk it must be a Baskerville muzzle. Otherwise she won't be able to pant, take treats or drink and it could be really dangerous.

If it rubbed on her nose it wasn't a good fit - I would take her to Pets at Home or similar and get her to try on multiple ones to make sure you get one that's comfortable.

I would also be working on teaching her a "leave it" and a "drop it" command. Pavement surfing is common but needs to be trained out of them - it won't just change as they mature.

It was a Baskerville, fitted at pets at home. She just has a very delicate little nose.

We have tried so hard with leave it, she gets a glint in her eye and nothing can distract her, it's when we are in the woods not when she is on lead.

I have dug the muzzle out and by all her measurements it is defiantly the right size.

I wondered if there is something the same design but softer material. I know not a fabric one a these prevent panting and drinking.

I have a greyhound. He is comfortable wearing a Baskerville muzzle. I cover the part that rubs his nose with soft material / sponge - taped on with surgical tape. Works really well.

People tend to line the Baskerville ones with fleece or sponge... also, do you know you can reshape them so they fit better?

The problem with a muzzle that’s soft is that it then bends so they can get stuff.

How do you bend it? We tried it again this morning and it seemed better it's just the one bar that goes across the top. I was wondering about lining it with some fleece, and maybe Vaseline on her (would that be a really bad idea?) it actually looks like it fits her perfectly but when she tries to get stuff she pushes it around. It's the Baskerville ultra if that helps.

To bend it - you stick it in hot water and it softens up enough to shape it their face better.

And yep you’re totally fine to line it (as long as it’s not then too tight, but it doesn’t sound like it would be)

Don’t know that I’d Vaseline though tbh, that could get messy.

I removed the strap onto her head as well which seems to be better, I actually wondered about just cutting the offending bar off but think that might make it totally useless.

We went for a walk and I didn't even fasten it to her collar and she kept it on so I don't think it's bothering her at all.

You can reshape the ultra muzzle in hot water for two minutes the when satisfied into cold water to set it if that would work? Ive have had so many problems trying to find a muzzle. If you will use it all the time you can get made to measure leather ones which would be so worth it.
