Calming entire male

MIL was looking after our dog yesterday and overnight. He's a 1yo entire male. For some reason MIL thought it would be a good idea to take him on a walk with her neighbours bitch, who's in heat, last night.
Apparently he wouldn't eat his dinner last night and was very over excited and anxious. Pacing about etc. after the walk and still this morning.
Thankfully MIL managed to keep ddog off the bitch so there won't be puppies.
DH is on his way to collect him.
Do you think he'll be back to normal once he's home and can't smell the bitch anymore?

Poor boy , he must of been climbing the walls to get to her !
What on earth was your MIL thinking ? Do you think she was hoping they would 'accidently' get to breed ?

You pooch will probably calm down after a day or so back in his familiar surroundings but take care when you take him out he may go off looking for her for the next few days / week .

You do know you are going to get 100s of post telling you to go and get him castrated and that keeping him intact is wrong and you will become a back yard puppy farmer in it for the £s dont you Hmm

I don't think she would have been thinking at all, definitely not deliberate I don't think.
He actually seems fine now he's home.
We're definitely not going to be siring him out, we think he might still have some growing to do so we're leaving a decision about castration just now. He doesn't have any of the negative male traits that castration fixes (except the sexual frustration he exhibited after meeting the bitch) and I'd be slightly worried about causing him to become anxious so we're biding our time with the decision.

Your MIL will need to be on alert if she takes him walking with that female dog again. He's likely to remember how exciting she was this time and get over excited again (even when she's not on heat).

Thanks, I didn't think of that. That could be problematic, MIL is great friends with her neighbour and is our go to dog sitter.
Ddog is a bit mopey and fed up this evening.

Apparently the bitch was waving her bum in his face 🙈

So probably 100% ready to tie. You MIL needs a talking-to.

He will calm down, poor lad, But as you are aware, no need to chop him just yet: let him finish growing and developing.
