Those things for washer that "grab" the dog hair?

Has anyone used one or knows what they're called or if they work ? My pup is now quietly shedding wiry black hairs and driving me mad. Sometimes they go to the front of the seal and I can wipe them off but I'd love a way to get them out of or off clothes during the wash!

I’ve no idea but I am watching with bated breath!

MrsBDarcy · 16/03/2021 22:10

I can't think where I've seen them. Facebook ad probably.

I just put all the hairy washing in one of these bags.

I have these, would not recommend. They don’t seem to catch anything

Vamoosh? But I think you use that in Empty machines to dissolve the collected hair?

WisestIsShe · 17/03/2021 21:01

I use a rubber brush from Lakeland to remove the hair before it goes in the wash. It works quite well.

I did see a pet hair desolver in b&m recently, a powder to add to the wash, but I didn't buy it so can't say if it's any good.

I've used the B&M pet hair dissolver and thought it was very good. That reminds me to buy some more!

MirandaMarple · 17/03/2021 21:16

Tried everything mentioned above. Vamoosh is just a gimmick, washing on a hot cycle without expensive detergent works the same. I wash dog blankets and towels with general detergent powder and distilled white vinegar in the softener section.

Tumble drying helps collect the hair too. I have been know to hoover out my washing machine drum.

If I've just washed the dog's stuff I put a grotty old flannel in on a short wash on its own and it picks up the hair. Then I let that dry and shake it off in the garden.

They don’t work at all, do they? :/
Happytentoes · 18/03/2021 13:52

I bought them and they do absolutely nothing. I read on here that a dishwasher tablet on a hit wash does a great job of cleaning the machine after washing dog blankets, and it does seem to work and is cheaper than Vamoosh.

*hot wash !

Does that only work on the washing that’s in the machine or does it work on stuff in the pipes?

Only I’ve clogged up my washing machine by washing horse rugs and saddle pads in it.

I keep meaning to get the washing machine repair man out to look at it, but he’s fully booked out for months.

For anything hairy (dog or horse) I use one of these www.horsedirect.co.uk/lemieux-large-numnah-wash-bag-p3903/s27089?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=lemieux-large-numnah-wash-bag-pa0163-24002731&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6ZvP4v-57wIVEO7tCh3vHQY3EAQYASABEgK0HvD_BwE

I had a cheapo one before but found it didn’t really catch anything - hence the clogged up washing machine.

The only thing I’ve found with the Le Mieux one is that everything still comes out quite wet despite using the longest spin
