Springer pups

I’ve just been told my beloved springer spaniel has a tumour and limited time. She is my 3rd consecutive springer so I am well used to the breed, but I have never had a pup - please any springer person out there can you give me an idea. Only puppy experience was a lab many years ago...

So sorry to hear this
I’ve always had springers and had them all from puppies - got 2 at present mother and daughter ( had a litter three years ago)
I don’t think they are harder than other breeds and very biddable but gentle and learn easily

I'm really sorry to hear about your ddog. We have a springer pup, but it is our first dog so wouldn't know how she compares. I do know we had to teach her to settle in the house as she never really got tired, but will go on her bed when prompted. Other than that, high energy, bitey, appears trained one day then forgets it the next, but I've read that about most breeds of dog when they are pups!

I find all puppies hard work!
But our springer puppy probably chewed the least out of all of the puppies we've had.
She was a bitey land shark though, ripped the kids clothes, hung off their hair, bit hands and feet.
She's got zero separation anxiety though which is good.
And now she's older she's a piece of cake!

I have a 24 week Springer boy. He’s my first puppy so I have nothing to compare him with but he’s a total sweetheart. Keen to learn, quirky, good recall (and I do realise teenage years still to come), sleeps well and was easy to toilet train. I know a lot of Springers and they are all very high energy but such loyal, loving laid back dogs but you already know that. I’m sorry about your ddog

Not a springer but a Sprocker (dad Springer, mum Sprocker)
Incredibly bitey and rough in play, and had to be taught to switch off. Wore Wellies in the house for the first couple of months
