What do you do in this situation? - Poonami on the pavement

Ddog is 6 months. Toilet trained and generally goes on our lawn or on fields and obviously I pick it up.

Today he had a normal firm poo (sorry far tmi) this morning in the garden.

I took him for a walk and he started giving “poo signals” whilst we were walking on the pavement. I tried to move him to a grassy verge but before I knew it he had diarrhoea all over the pavement. I picked up what I could with bags and luckily had wipes and a bottle of water with me so washed and scrubbed what I could but in the absence of a power mop I was never going to remove all the remnants and the pavement still had a yellow stain. He’s been fine since - lll keep an eye on him but what are you supposed to do in that situation? I am a responsible owner and hated leaving anything on the pavement but used loads of wipes and there was no way of getting it all.

Sounds like you did your best. Not sure I would have been equipped to do as much.
If you are in the Uk - it will rain soon 😁

It happens very occasionally and it would be unreasonable to expect everyone to always carry wipes and water just in case. I guess you could go back and clean it later if you are local and felt really bad but it’s not going to ruin anyone’s life if they see/step in dog diarrhoea. It’s just an embarrassing crappy situation. Happened to a friends dog on a pier once which was v embarrassing

You did what you could. That's it.

ooohbriefcase · 28/02/2021 22:40

You got most of it, you washed it down the rain will do the rest. Rinsed diarrhoea won't get on anyone shoes it will just look like a stain on the pavement. I wouldn't worry about it.

LimitIsUp · 28/02/2021 22:55

I think you did well in the circumstances

blowinahoolie · 01/03/2021 07:33

Pick up what you can (as you did) and let the rain do the rest.

Xiaoxiong · 01/03/2021 07:41

You did what you could. At least you had water with you - in a similar situation I had to go home with the dog, leaving most of it there while saying in a kind of general embarrassed announcement to the two people within earshot "I'll be right back...just getting some water...", and walk back down the road with a kettle of boiling water to wash it into the gutter!

EspressoExpresso · 01/03/2021 07:43

My dog did this once 🤦‍♀️ it was a residential area, I knocked on a door and asked for a bowl of soapy water. They were more than happy to oblige

OnlyBejoking · 01/03/2021 07:43

The last time this happened to me I picked up what I could and then sprinkled some soil from a nearby border on the rest to soak/cover it.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 01/03/2021 12:08

You did absolutely fine. There's not much else you CAN do in that situation, really! Mine's done it as well and I scraped as much up as possible with poo bags and squirted some water over the rest.

shouldistop · 01/03/2021 14:38

You did what you could. The rain will wash it away.

Wolfiefan · 01/03/2021 14:40

You did your very best. Only time this happened to me was a couple of minutes from home. I dropped dog home and went out with a bucket of water. Blush
