CBD oil for itchy dog

My gorgeous Bedlington boy is a very itchy character, he has half an antihistamine in the morning.
I have eliminated all the things that seem to trigger him (mainly chicken and wheat).
I worked with a woman last night who suggested that CBD oil could help.
She has been successfully been treating epilepsy in one of her dogs with it.
Has anyone had any sucesss, if so, what brand would you recommend

Ooh I'd be interested to know this too, my dog is also very itchy and has epilepsy

Please don't do this without discussing with your vet. CBD isn't licensed in animals and its certainly not an antihistamine. Have you done a proper food trial diet? That's the first thing I'd do. If you want to know for sure what allergens cause his symptoms then you can have allergy testing done.

He is definitely allergic to chicken and wheat as well as grass pollen .
He was taking a tablet twice a day that while it was effective, cost an arm and a leg and needed blood test done every couple of months due to the side effects.
Anti histamine was the vets recommendation.
He should be going for his booster soon, I’ll discuss it with her then

Last time I spoke to a vet about CBD oil they weren’t allowed to advise on it, it’s not licenced for animals so it’s not legal to buy it for them either.

Fleas and mites can also cause itchiness and present like allergies but are very easily quickly and cheaply treated/tested/eliminated with a vet strength treatment like Bravecto.

I wouldn't be giving my dog CBD oil. I would be asking the vet for a solution.
