Crate with divider or two crates?

Hi, I’m having difficulty finding a crate in stock that has a divider (all the Ellie bo is sold out on Amazon). Also needs to deliver to Ireland (eg Amazon/zooplus). Is there a way of doing a DIY version or should I maybe just buy a smaller soft crate that would do for initial car journey/puppy stage and then buy a bigger one later? It’s for a small rough collie, so I’m expecting she’ll be about 51cm at the withers when fully grown.

We went up in size as the dog grew and sold the smaller ones on.

Did that as we initially had one with a divider and on her first night I hadn't fastened it properly and she'd got stuck having squeezed her way through to have a poo rather than wake us up.

The smaller crate was fine at night. Didn't use one in the day.

We started with an adult size one 🤷‍♀️
There were a few accidents early on but accidents are to be expected with a young puppy anyway.
She housetrained quickly and has been using her crate happily for the past 8 years.

We got a full-sized crate from day one.

If you want to start with a smaller one, have a look on Marketplace as people often sell puppy crates on for a fiver or so.

I do want a full sized one but also wanted a divider to make it smaller for a pup. You didn’t have any problems with accidents by putting a puppy in a full sized one?

I think that unless you plan to be taking pup out every 30 minutes through the night you are highly likely to get accidents regardless of if you have a divider or not!
Accidents go with the territory when you have a puppy imo

We divided ours using a piece of OSB board cut to size, holes drilled and held in place with cable ties. Worked brilliantly (although obviously could be chewed if your dog was inclined). 6 weeks in and we just removed it as he’s growing fast. I think we only had two pee accidents the whole time, and they happened in the first couple of nights.
