My dog is well again now- touch wood -but she was ill for nearly two weeks with the following symptoms: pain (believed abdo area), listnessness, nausia, vomited once, off feed, generally miserable and just when I thought she was improving she had (very short lived) severe UTI symptoms. She had bloods run and a scan -nothing showed up. Curious if anyone else's dog has had similar symptoms recently?

My old dog had a short period of vomiting, generally off colour, she had a day at vets on a drip for hydration as anytime she drank was sick again. It just passed so I assume was some kind of bug. Hope its similar for your dog and she's out the other side & stays well now.

Bless her some sort of gastric virus or food poisoning Particularly if now recovered.

Canine seasonal vomiting syndrome. - there is a lot about at the moment just like jan and Feb last year.

Redhound · 22/02/2021 21:11

Thanks for the further ideas. Just realised I spelt nausea wrong oops! Hadn't really come across Canine Seasonal syndrome or only vaguely heard of it; does sound similar but my girl didn't have diarrhoea. She seems 99 % right now I am just concerned that she might still be drinking more water than usual which was another symptom. The vet said to keep an eye on her. Thanks again

Colitis? My dog has those symptoms after eating something hideous on the beach.

Any blood or mucus when pooing?

Lonecatwithkitten · 22/02/2021 22:48

@Redhound not all of them have diarrhoea (IME only 75% do).

Redhound · 23/02/2021 13:04

Puffling probably not colitis as no diarrhoea, blood nor mucus.. My dog does eat grim things though.. Lonecat that's interesting. The vets put gastritis question mark, they really didn't know, not sure where the UTI symptoms fit in with this though maybe as her immune system got low. Thanks
