Does anyone use Butternut Box or Wolfworthy - compared to raw?

Dear all
So Archerpup came to us with Purina puppy food which has the nutritional content of cardboard. I have done loads of research and bought a sample of Wolfworthy and been integrating the two and we are now at more Wolf than Purina. However, poos are ok but sometimes a bit looser and smellier than I'd like. She is on four meals a day with 40g across the 4 although the evening one tends to be a lot less because of training treats, lickimat, dental chew.

She weighs around 4.5 kg atm and fully grown should be between 22 - 25 kg. With raw, I am really confused in trying to work out the amounts she will need - one site said 10% of current body weight which seems an enormous amount of food.

Butternut box has been recommended by many and it appeals because you have set amount that is then split. Being cooked you remove the raw food risk too. Any experiences with it would be most welcome. I intend to carry on with Wolfworthy too because we caravan and having kibble is more easy to manage or should I just stick with the kibble and transfer wholly to Wolfworthy.

I am spending too much time thinking about poo!

We moved Xipup to Butternut probably about 6 weeks ago now and I'm really happy with it. Aside from the fact he loves it and I'm happy he's getting good quality food, I like the convenience of it. We get a scheduled delivery every 2 weeks. Half goes in fridge and half in freezer and it doesn't take up too much room. As far as poo goes when he was on the food from the breeder the poo smelt awful and he had smelly flatulence. Also sometimes the poo was really soft. Now we have small, firm poos and less of them and the flatulence has completely gone

@XiCi Thank you. I've given her all wolfworthy for lunch so will see what happens.

I hated butterbox, it smelt unpleasant. They let me down on a delivery one day and worst of all my dog did consistently 4 poos a day, and she's a slim, active labrador.
Plus the amount of packaging, recyclable or not was ridiculous.

Thank you @rosesarered321 . What do you use now?

I use skinners working dog salmon and rice, it's hypoallergenic and my dog does very well on it. We get 2 or 3 poos a day, much better!

There’s a good chance the poos are softer because you are feeding too much.
Good quality kibbles require way less to be fed, give too much and you’ll get big poos, or even diarrhoea!

BigWolfLittleWolf · 21/02/2021 16:14

For example, I feed mine wet food but I do keep a bag of good quality kibble in for emergencies.
The feeding guide for my good quality dry (Akela salmon) is 190g for a 15kg moderately active dog.
Compare that to Purina beneful original which suggests she needs 259g.
Or Bakers adult complete which suggests she needs around 300g

I feed my three dogs Nurtiment (raw) but I also feed butternut box every other day so that they are used to cooked food. They all love it (one adult very large breed, one puppy of the same breed and one miniature daschund). After butternut box their poos are softer, larger and smelly. Their poos on raw are solid and don't smell.
Hope this helps

In terms of weight of food, my 16 week old pup at 22kilo gets 1.2 kilo or food (nutriment or butternut box) which works out at 5% of body weight.
My five year old 42 kilo has 3% of body weight
