Bed for two very different dogs (sighthound x + jrt x) who insist on sharing

Dog 1: sighthound cross, getting a bit elderly, very sensitive skin which prefers cotton bedding, needs covers.

Dog 2: jrt cross, bossy, will sleep on top of or otherwise dominate any bedding or snuggle/tunnel part of bed so Dog 1 can't/won't get in without intervention.

There are beds all over the house but the only bed Dog 1 wants to be in is the one Dog 2 is in and I'd like some time off from my official duties as bedding wrangler/tucker-in and arbitrator.

Ideally I'd find a huge cotton tunnel bed with two entrances. Also wondering about raised pet beds so I can be free of the untidiness and endless laundering of blankets. Everything seems to be made of fleece or nylon so I may have to compromise on that element (he has a stretchy cotton bodysuit sort of thing that might help). Can anyone suggest a solution (besides having to knock up something myself)?

I don’t think it will make any difference what bed you get it’s the JRTs behaviour that needs to change , sorry that’s no help but my dsis used to have brother and sister JRT x and the boy was always like this , not letting his sister have the bed to herself even though there were plenty . When he died at 17 a couple of years ago we thought his sister would be really upset but she seems to thoroughly enjoy being a lone dog and able to sleep wherever she wants .

I'd get ddog1 a cotton under layer like the HoundTees long johns) and then a fleece coat or [[https://www.spudsdogcoats.com/8-shop/12-onesies onesie to go over them so that the arguing over covers is removed and they are still nice and warm

Floral tbh they have a funny little pass-agg relationship, jrt is bossy but when sighthound gets in the bed he tramples her lavishly and sometimes pushes her right out with his bum so I don't completely blame her. To be clear when I say 'bossy' I mean that she looks at him, if I put a blanket over her face he will back into the bed.

I'm open to suggestions about how to manage this behaviour, we ration her sofa time and attention and she's otherwise very well-behaved. We could keep her downstairs and let him get in the bed first (they sleep at the top of the stairs) but she's so quick, she can go up and down the stairs half a dozen times in the time it takes him to get to the top.

Dibbler he has an Equafleece t-shirt suit which is very similar, but those are so much prettier!

Dibbler sorry meant to say he has worn it to bed but he still wants something over him.

They don't argue over bedding as such, he insists on being wrapped up so even if jrt isn't in the bed he will cry or woof to be covered. They have a Charley Chau snuggle bed that stops him complaining but if she's on top of it he can't get in.

I messed up the links, and mean to say the HoundTees long johns with a fleece onesie like this over it so they are cosy. My ddog1 is pathetic and cold without a coat on through the winter, and the onesies do keep all their joints warm
