Hi all,
We have recently moved into an area with a lot of cats. My beautiful and entirely stereotypical lab, loves everybody and everything and the cats have quickly deduced that he is absolutely no threat to them whatsoever. We love cats too, so this is fine...except they crap in our garden and our boy keeps eating it!
He definitely gets fed enough (although as a lab obviously he wouldn’t agree), he is on the highest quality of food we can afford, so I’m not really in a position to mess about with his diet to try and get him to stop. So I’m looking for completely non-toxic, non hostile ways to try and stop the cats pooing in the garden. I’ve read that lavender oil can be a natural deterrent, has anyone had any success with that? Obviously needs to be something that won’t be toxic or distressing for my boy as well.
Long term plan is to make pave that part of the gardens it’s a kind of sandy area at the back, so I can see why cats would like it. We have plans to turn into a nice bbq area but that won’t be for a while yet, so just looking for something in the interim and I guess for afterwards when the cats just find a new area in the garden
