Blood near anus

My little dog has been feeling a bit sorry for himself today, I've just gone to fill up his bowl and he's come to investigate and I noticed a blood/liquid drip on the floor and near his anus. I'm pretty sure it's his anal glands and I'll be speaking to the vet tomorrow morning but is there anything I can do for him tonight? He seems uncomfortable but not in pain as such.

Hi what did the vet say? This was one of the first signs of our dogs illness so I hope they're ok x

Sorry @Peachy92 I've just seen this. He had an anal gland abscess that burst. I feel like the worst dog owner in the world! I didn't even know he had it. He's on antibiotics and painkillers and he's going back for a check up on Tuesday. How is your DDog now? X

@Gooseygoosey12345 don't worry! Bless him that's very sad poor thing but as we all know they don't tell us very often when something is wrong so how are we supposed to know. I'm glad he's ok and now you know and I'm sure he's getting a lot of fuss. Afraid mine was anal sac gland tumour so not good bless her. But why I wanted to see if yours was ok. She was diagnosed late last year and she's been going downhill a lot so unfortunately I think it's time we said goodbye before she suffers more but you'll see on another post I've started that my DH doesn't agree. He's not ready to say goodbye so atm we're at a stale mate 😔

Yes definitely getting lots of fuss, he's a lovely little dog with the best temperament, I had no idea he was poorly. He's better by the day though so at least that's something.
I'm so sorry about your ddog. It's so tough, having to make that decision, but I'd have to agree with you. When they get to that point of suffering it's the kindest thing to do. I can understand your DH as it's devastating, but it's such a selfless thing to let them go. I hope you can come to an agreement and your ddog doesn't suffer too much
