Our 10 year old Cocker Spaniel is extremely lethargic today. Took him for a good walk this am and he was fine - but this on and for the last day or so - out of sorts.
Could I have fed him too much turkey?
Should I just feed him plain rice for his supper?
When do you worry enough to take them to the vets?
Many thx x

Is he eating or drinking? are his gums pale?
One of mine was like this, had kidney failure due to sniffing a jellyfish, vet said she was hours from death, made a full recovery thankfully.

I would go with my gut feeling.

Was the walk much longer than normal? Could you have simply upped the exercise too much?

If nothing has changed but he is not himself for a few days I would be tempted to try and get a checkup just in case.

I would take him to the vets for a check up, especially with bank holidays and the weekend coming up. It's better to be safe and sorry, and if there's something wrong, I'd rather get it treated now than risk it getting worse over the weekend.

Many thx he seems better now - I think he ate something that slightly tranquillised him! Fingers crossed he'll be ok - I think he will - have given him some plain rice - luckily all the turkey is now gone!

Many thx for your advice - he seems fine now - pretty sure he ate something - but really good to have your advice. X
