Take new puppy up to bed or sleep downstairs?

All of the books say different.
Would we be best taking crate upstairs for the first few nights so she is near us, or one of us sleeps downstairs?
Keen to get this right!

We started as we meant to go on. She’s in with us. Has worked well, she’s very good and wakes us if she ever needs the loo.

I love her so much and really don’t mind her snuggling in with us. DH doesn’t either, thankfully. We figure that she will eventually get too big and warm that she’ll choose to sleep on the floor but if she doesn’t, so be it it.

Heres my new puppy pic shinynewapple2020.
He's determined to get into bed with us, tries his best every night so dont think it will be long before I cave. I dont mind him sleeping at the end of the bed, just really scared of accidents when hes so little!

Upstairs. DDog started in a bed beside us but I brought him in to our bed when I thought he was maybe cold and he's never gone back to his own bed since. He doesn't actually even have a bed now because it's only ever been our bed or cuddled up on the sofa cushions (he's 9!).
