What is your day like with a puppy?

Dpup is almost 12 weeks and happy toilet trained and sleeps through. He had his 2nd vaccinations on Monday.
What's a routine. How much do they just get on with things?

Currently I take him out at 7am for quick wee, do school run and then take him out about 9am for 20 mins, (do a bit of training). Wee again at 11am. Then we'd meet up with another pup in the afternoon for a quick play, do school run, kids will play with him. But there just seems to be a lot of down time - where he's following me around - is that normal?

I think pottering for puppies IS following you around, it is their recreation. There isn't much they want to DO by themselves except sleep. But they do need a lot of sleep, if following you is interrupting the "sleep", and puppy is getting too overstimulated, perhaps a nap routine? Some pups do put themselves to bed but others become whiny bitey nightmares when overtired.
Yours sounds very peaceful...

My pup had two long scheduled naps a day in crate with cover, near me, morning and afternoon, two hour stretches. Otherwise there was too much catnapping and hysteria. This progressed to him sleeping two hours in darkened room aged 4 to 5 months and I could leave him knowing he was not going to stir. Now it is more play by ear but I factor in he needs some time when nothing is happening to overstmulate or disturb, loud noise, training, walk etc.

I notice ddog is definitely happier just hanging out than being constantly bombarded with games and training. Exetcise/vigorous play twice a day but the rest of the time just gentle downtime in bosom of family or they become brats!

Okay, it seems normal - I’ve never had a dog before. Thank you everyone,

Get up at 6:30ish, out for a wee/poo, some cuddles, breakfast, bit of a play. Hes up for an hour or so then we go out again for the toilet and it's back in the crate for a nap. I start work while he sleeps. When he gets up (usually between 9 and 10) I take my break and we do some training games or fetch in the garden, but this will become his walk time once hes allowed out! Then I go back to working and he potters around the same room as me, playing with his toys or just chillaxing til he falls asleep again until lunch. Then rinse repeat throughout the afternoon really! In the evenings he tends to get the zombies about an hour after dinner then he chills right out and just watches tv/gets his belly rubbed by us til he goes to bed (currently mid I'm a celebrity!).

He does a lot of quiet pottering too which I'm quite happy with as its calm time for us both!

Zoomies not zombies!

We get the zoomies early evening too. Then pup is overtired and barky/bitey for over an hour, it’s so frustrating.

Day is a couple of very short walks (too long = overtired and more zoomies), a few sleeps (not enough really) a little training, also lots of garden trips for toilet (we are at about 90% outside now at 14 weeks).

Ours is 13 weeks. Up at 6.30/7 has breakfast on a snuffle mat in her pen while we all get ready. Quick game of tug then I do school run. She’ll drop off to sleep then usually for a couple of hours, then a short walk, lunch, bit of training, more sleep til kids home from school then she finds it hard to settle so will follow us about, have a kong etc Tea at 6.30pm sleep till about 8pm, short walk, play and bed.
