How to clean wound

Another dog just went for my dog. I checked her over when I got in and she has some blood on her ear. Have wiped it with a baby wipe but was unsure how I should clean it properly. I can't actually see a cut as her ears are very furry. Any advice would be appreciated.

Aww, ear flaps are terrible bleeders. If you haven't got any antiseptic wash, or hibiscrub or anything, a bit of salt water will be OK.

Warm salt water should be fine

Thank you. That's what I was thinking of using. Will do that now.

I agree cool boiled water with salt in it.

vet nurse - meticulously check her over , when you find wound /wounds clip or shave fur very short around it , she may have multiple puncture wounds every one needs attention .
Use salt water -a generous pinch in warm water or hibiscrub if you can get some .
Bathe wounds 2/3 times daily , i would definitely seek a vets opinion tomorrow if possible .
Bite wounds are notorious for becoming infected , a puncture wound if it seals over can quickly turn into an abscess ,vet will very likely prescribe antibiotics , she may become more painful as bruising comes out over next few hours .

Thank you tsmainsqueeze. I'll call the vet tomorrow.

I took her to the vet today. He checked her over and said that she was fine and didn't need antibiotics. He said I'd done the right thing bathing her ear with salt water but didn't need to continue doing it. Thanks again everyone. I'm still glad that I took her to the vet though as it's put my mind at rest.
