Does anyone have experience with Pexion?

My dog was desensitised to fireworks as a pup/young dog and we never really had any problems until two years ago when one practically came through the window.
Nothing has worked since, she's just a complete wreck and reacts like she's protecting the house from them as well as being scared and anxious. She gets so worked up. Last year it took a coupled of weeks for her to settle down, even the soft bang of a door closing sharply would set her off.
Discussed with vet and she's been prescribed Pexion. Started it last night in anticipation of the next few nights and were told to start a few days before.
She's a bit uncoordinated and she's just turned into a food hound! She's literally just taken a piece of toast straight off my plate -in front of me. She's never done anything like that before, she wouldn't dare. But it was literally like she couldn't help herself. I read side effects are the above along with loss of fear inhibitions. Recipe for losing more toast I reckon! I can cope with that but I'm wondering as this is short term would feeding her more over the next few days while she's on them at least ease her desperation to get at food? Or is it a case that she would eat until she bursts because of the side effects?
Has anyone used this drug for noise anxiety purposes and do you have any advice/tips.
Even with the side effects, it's preferable to how she is over fireworks, but I'm not really comfortable about it either.

I’m a vet and put my own dog on pexion last year for firework/noise phobia. It’s a drug that it used as an anti epilepsy drug at a lower dose, and a higher dose used for short term noise phobias. It seemed to work very effectively for my dog (and others I’ve prescribed it for). Wobbliness (ataxia), lethargy etc can be side effects of it. It if it is to excess, then could try reducing the dose, but if tolerable I would stick with it. The side effects will disappear quite quickly after finishing the meds, so it’s worth persisting for the benefits of it.

Thank you. She seems more settled having been on them a few days now while the fireworks are going off regularly than she was with the random ones that were happening over the weekend. She's grumbling and barking but only at the really loud ones now, much calmer than before and if nothing else is being very easily distracted with bits of her food in dribs and drabs! Hoping this may turn it into a positive experience again.

Just had a wrestle with the Shetland and a tube of sedalin to keep him calm too tonight 😂 the others stand and watch but he's a quivering mess. Currently flicking his ears at them but they're not too close yet.

What would happen if a dog took 3 pexion tablets when he shouldn’t have?
