Jack Russell diet

Morning all! We have a two year old Jack Russell. He's well behaved in almost every way- sleeps well, doesn't bark, never chewed or bitten ... We run with him every other day if not more often. He also has fairly long walks every day. The only issue we have with him is that he has runny poos when he exercises. His first poo is fairly solid but after that we have no chance picking it up. It means we can't take him on pavements, on the school run, to the shops etc. He has a mix of dried and wet food twice a day an we don't feed him scraps or our food at all (though we catch the kids on occasion!). I really want to be able to lead walk him on the pavements. Any advice?

Physical exertion loosens the bowels. Perfectly normal.

It's not just when he runs. I can walk him 1km to school. He gets very excited and does a big runny poo. When we go for a long walk or a run he does one solid poo then lots of runny ones. We'll stop the denta stix then

Maybe try a raw diet with plenty of raw meaty bones? Bone for dog acts like fibre for humans. I find raw makes much smaller poos too.

He might just have funny bowels though. Even plenty of humans find that running makes for loose bowels.

Even just being excited and having diarrhoea is normal.
