Please help me remember this word for a well behaved dog!

If you can I can tell you a mildly amusing anecdote. It was said to me in an interaction and the context made me chuckle. I'm annoyed I can't now recall the word. It's like obedient and patient. One word...

Thanks everyone, it was obedient! That fits perfectly. I just giggled at the time at my thinking she was referring to my own behaviour.
