Toy Poodle 'looks'/cuts

Hi all I'm after at bit of advice on Toy Poodles. After a long time and a lot of deliberation we have decided to get our first dog. We think that a Toy Poodle would be best for us, unfortunately we don't know any in real life but have done a lot of research.

The only reservation my DH has is that he can't get past the "poodle" image of pompoms, shaved bits, poofy heads/ears, shaved feet etc. His ideal 'look' of a dog would be a cockapoo/cavapoo type dog with curly or shaggy coat not styled.

So my question is is it all down to the cut? It seems so from what I've read but I just want to be able to reassure DH properly. I've seen 'teddy' or 'puppy' cuts on pictures of toy poodles which seem to be what we'd want but would all poodles look like this with those cuts? I hope it's not offensive to poodle owners to want a toy poodle that looks like a cavapoo/cockapoo so sorry if I've offended anyone but it's really a sticking point for him. Can anyone offer any advice? Many thanks in advance.

MissShapesMissStakes getting on really well! He's very gentle apart from the odd bitey/zoomy episode in the day, usually when he's too tired or excited. Sleeping and toileting ok any mishaps inside due to us not paying enough attention! Hoping he'll only wake once a night soon... he's my absolute shadow always on my heel and I've tripped.over him a few times!
Oh you should get another!

Sounds great. My mini was like that. Not a chewer and only bitey when he was too excited.

We got bells for the door so he could ask to go out and we didn't miss it. Worked brilliantly and he still uses them now to ask to go out. Which is amusing when there's a pigeon outside and he's desperate to get out.

I would love another. Part of me thinks we wouldn't be so lucky this time round. (He slept through from day one alone in his crate downstairs.) I also don't think my husband or the dog would appreciate another one! He likes his family to himself. He's a people dog rather than a dog dog. They're a bit too unpredictable and scary for him and he just rolls over and gives in to other dogs.
