Self isolation and dogs

So like many other people we are making plans incase we or others have to stay at home. From what I understand covid-19 can be transferred via pet fur if touched by an infected person. What are others planning to do with regards to caring for their dogs and maintaining a level of exercise and stimulation? He's only a year old.

sorry, missed a page, I see you've all been through the symptoms v not symptoms etc

I really feel that if these dogs don't get walked, we are going to see a huge rise in dog attacks.
frustrated under-walked dogs alongside bored house-bound kids = recipe for disaster.

Everyone here still walking their dog

Lots of dogs getting extra exercise as people are working from home and want a break Smile

Here too. In fact, the woodland I walk in has been unusually busy these last few days so I think a combination of

  • working from home giving people more time in the early morning,
  • plus trying to avoid more built up areas,
means more people are searching around for places for a quiet walk.

It is just not clear as now today a runny nose could be a symptom but not a primary one. I have runny nose, sore throat, cough but no fever. I am holding onto the latter in the hope it means I don't have it.

I've barely seen anyone walking their dog, which is deeply weird. Not sure if they're just doing it in the middle of the day, rather than the start.

Btw I've found some great toys on Amazon for my dogs, and we've had a great play this afternoon. Also found hide and seek and "which hand is the treat in" have gone down really well. After about 15 mins play they're noticeably more tired. Bit tiring for the human too though!

I doubt it will tbh.

People that aren’t going to keep their dog busy are probably people who already have underwalked dogs...

Yes walking and running dog here.Off road and away from others.

We're in self isolation as I'm the one with a cough. Husband is walking the dog, but early and away from anyone. Luckily ours is perfectly happy as we chose a low exercise breed anyway, but I feel bad that she isn't getting to play with her doggy pals. Risks of not doing these precautions just aren't worth it.
