My dog hates the rain. Anyone else’s?

My dog (miniature dachshund) absolutely hates the rain.

I can’t walk him off lead when it’s wet as he will immediately bolt back home once the lead is off. And on lead walks in the rain = him putting the brakes on.

When he wears a coat it seems to help him a fraction. But he still hates the wet on his feet and his head.

Do you have any recommendations for good weather gear for dogs? (Shoes maybe? A little rain hat? 😂) Or any advice for walking a dog who hates the rain?

This is where mine would much prefer to stay...!

I do highly rate Equafleece,they do a dachshund fitting fleece which is fab for when you really do need to get out.

Our JRT puppy absolutely hates it. He's so good with toileting outside now but today he's not having it and he had an accident inside. Haven't even attempted to take him out for a walk because I know he will refuse. We've just been playing inside and he's more than happy. He's caught up on his naps too 😂

Mine is a greyhound. Doesn't do rain, doesn't do wind, is incandescent with outrage at snow and even a light drizzle's pushing it. She's currently holding me personally responsible for the weather.
