Flea treatment and bathing

Hello,

I've bought Frontline to flea my dog. She doesn't currently have fleas, it's just preventative.

I noticed however in the small print that "Bathing/shampooing/water exposure does not affect the efficacy of the product as long as it doesn’t occur more than once a week or within 2 days of application of the product."

Unfortunately we have to bathe her more then once a week on vets orders due to her having dry skin in places. (Trying to fix this with diet as well)

Is there anything I can do to reduce risk of fleas in these circumstances? I've been looking at some natural essential oil sprays online that are supposed to repel fleas. I was wondering if it would be possible to use these in tandem with the Frontline? I really don't want her to suffer with fleas.

Frontline isnt supposed to be very effective. Get a vet treatment and ask their advice

Don't bother with frontline. It's useless.

We get tablets from the vet which she takes once a month. These don't affect bathing and seem less faff to me.

Frontline is rubbish. We use Nexgard.

We use Bravecto from the vets as have a water loving Labrador. Not had fleas once and is 5 and we walk in long grass and woodland daily

We moved from advocate to nexgard spectra for one of those reasons as mine would go swimming. Nexgard is a tablet so not affected by water.
