I want to buy a whippet puppy- but can't find one!

Rhino skin is on.
Hard hat is on.
I'm going in!

So, I want to find a male whippet, preferably white with blue/brindle patches. Ideally 8-9 weeks.

I can't find one anywhere that I'm comfortable with.

Or that isn't trying to charge a gazillion pounds.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Please?

Here’s my girl. I adore her. Trust me it’s worth the wait. I know exactly where her parents are and her breeders have become friends. So much better than the alternative.

She's like a big old scruffy lurcher. I love her 😁

There are some tests OFA recommends that could shed some light: www.ofa.org/recommended-tests?breed=WP

I'm curious, if you don't care what the pup will look as an adult, why are you so fixated into a purebred whippet?

I'm not really fixated on a purebred whip. I love the breed but care not for breed standard.

I don't want a lurcher. I just love a proper skinny long legged pointy face. I'd have a grey in a heartbeat but you just dont see them as pups. Iggys are ££££ and too delicate. So a whippy it is.

I'd also reccomend champ dogs website, it was how we found our girls mum.
Would joining a breed specific facebook group help? I'm on several for my dogs breed, and some allow people to let people know if they have pups for sale? Some don't though. Just might be worth a look.
Its not worth rushing into buying a puppy right now just because you want one. As the saying goes buy in haste repent at leisure, and you can be sure as hell if you get one that has some issues, it will live forver!

That said, there are some on champdogs, though not sure where you are www.champdogs.co.uk/breeds/whippet/puppies?ht=&ct=England&wk=2&sex=&new=&tx=&pc=&distance=&sf=

longtom thank you for looking.

I've spoken to, or left a message, at every single one of those today.

None of them have anything suitable, sadly. Nothing at all 😢

I'm on lots of Facebook pages for the breed. Everyone there is a fucker and telling me to buy two!!

Not two puppies. Risk of littermate syndrome.

Whippet people. Smile

I know this is a bit of old thread resurrection but I was intrigued about what happened.

I'm struggling to find a whippet companion for my wee dog, after losing our other whippet. Obv the pandemic has stopped inessential travel, so it's all quite difficult. I wouldn't mind a dog that's been run on, so not just a puppy. I'm going to wait until the restrictions lift, as long as it takes but if anyone has any recommendations, I'd be grateful.

Very conscious of puppy farming & want a decent, ethical breeder. We were in touch with the breed rescue before they stopped rehoming but few whippets are rehomed.
