Anyone cycle with their dog?

Could you recommend me a suitable lead or bike attachment?
We've only done a short first attempt with a normal lead, but dog mostly off lead.
I think I need to be better prepared for a longer ride.
Thanks!

how do dogs attached to bikes indicate they want to pee or poo

Sled dogs usually go as they're running, though I did have one that would just stop dead to poo and cause havoc in the process.

It's far too warm to run dogs in the day-time at the moment. It makes me cringe seeing people drag their dogs out at all in the day between June-Sept.

Ours isn’t on lead so goes when he wants. The following bicyclist can see him and tell font person to slow although he usually just gallops to catch up. He’s go incredible stamina and can easily outrun most other breeds - As fast as a greyhound but can keep going. He’s favourite running companion at daycare is a Visla.
He also gets other sniffing time. Usually he does a ten mile run and two separate hours of walk and sniff, swim or chase ball. On the boat he usually does a run along by the bicycles but then as we moor in the middle of nowhere he just wanders along towpaths and in the woods. He likes having both long runs and sniff/play time.

I think lazy dog ownership isn’t those that cycle or run with them but those who rarely take them out and for whom a walk is fifty yards up the road. Dogs stuck inside all day and then called destructive have the lazy owners in my book.

I also have used a Springer and can recommend it. Keeps the dog firmly at your side and negates the effects of the dog lunging (mine was prone to). Apparently having the dog out front is illegal on road, but at side is not. Can't remember where I read it though, sorry. Whether you'd want to do it at all is a different kettle of fish!

Gosh, I've just seen how much they are on eBay/Amazon! Bought mine about 10 years ago, didn't cost that then! But do recall thinking they were a bit pricey.
