Dog ruining new grass

Any ideas what I can use to help my grass recover?
We put a section of new turf down a few weeks ago and our Lab Bitch is seeing on it and killing it.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Can you temporarily fence off the grass to keep the dog off.

My dog pees like a girl so the concentration of pee in one area kills the grass.

In the summer we pour water from watering cans over the areas of pee which dilutes it enough not to kill the grass.

In winter we don't bother and the patches that die are reseeded in the summer.

You can get those rock things that go in their water. Friend of mine has several dogs and her grass looks great.

I keep our dogs off our grass.

I think those rocks that Grumpy mentioned are only ever good if they only drink water from their bowl with them in.

Mine prefers muddy puddles, lakes and anything but his water in his water bowl.

Keep the soil wet/moist. The water in it then dilutes the pee as it enters. Pee = nitrogen which is a fertiliser and good for keeping plants (inc grass) green but it's the concentration levels that burn it. If the soil is wet then the pee mixes with the water and is less concentrated.

Train the dog to toilet in a specific area away from the grass

Dog rocks for our bitch work a treat. Even if we go away for a week or more, we don't get dead patches when we come home.

DH retains the right to kill the lawn to himself.

Nothing worked for ours except a fence to keep her off it.
Even now the grass is still mostly dead!

For those trying to revive dead grass. Having read up on this you need to do the following.

Rake out the dead grass. Once it is dead from dog pee it won't revive itself.

Put in some soil to replace the stuff you raked out.

Sprinkle in grass seed.

The important bit is make sure you water it so it never dries out whilst it is growing. If it dries out then the new seed is dead and you won't get any growth. I lightly water ours twice a day if the sun is out (I am in the south).

Also consider the seed. I am experimenting with 10% miniature clover as it's meant to stand dog pee more than grass so will still look a bit green if the grass dies.

We had a massive patch (4ft by 1ft) from repetitive peeing over winter. About 6 weeks after seeding we are down to about 10cm square as the new grass has grown and the surrounding grass has started to spread. It's a long job but with the watering straight after he pees in the summer the lawn will stay healthy.
