Harness

Any recommendation for a harness please?
We currently have a small ezydog harness which won’t fit her for much longer.
She absolutely hates having a harness put on and will have a grumble, but is fine with it as soon as we get out of the door.
I’ve got a feeling the chest plate on her current harness is a bit boney, and also where the straps are thin they tend to twist when putting it on and then slip to the left and right depending which way she’s pulling.
So ideally a harness that is comfy, perhaps thick straps, easy to put on (maybe over her head like a collar) and no boney chest plate!
Photo of current harness so you can see what I mean!
Happy to pay up to £40 as it should last her a good few years now she’s almost reached full size.

Percheron67, our dogs have always been taught to walk to heel, and do so. However, a well fitting harness, used correctly with a dog on a short lead walking to heel on pavements is perfectly safe. Any dog pulling and lunging ahead on pavements is at best a pain in the arse and at worse dangerous.

Check chains are abhorrent and should be banned

I can’t stand shock collars, prong collars or check/choke chains

Soubriquet. I wouldn't countenance shock collars or spiked collars. Horrid. However, a check chain, properly used lies flat on the dogs neck and is less onerous than a collar. If you have not been to an obedience class and learnt how to use a check chain properly then you are unwise to comment. Also, if your own experience is only with toy dogs you are unlikely to have knowledge of how to train a dog to do an obedience test. Barbara Woodhouse was an acknowledged dog trainer and used a check chain. She was an intelligent, kind and well regarded personality in the dog world. I learn a lot from her.
