My friend has one that is 3/4 lab and 1/4 collie. She’s hairier than the very handsome beast in the photo above. She’s extremely good natured, very energetic, highly trainable and eager to please. So the best of both breeds!

You wouldn’t want one that turned out neurotic and constantly hungry, though Shock

I guess when people on here say collie they mean a border collie?

You say you work part time on nights but presumably you will need to sleep so while you are at home, you won't be giving the dog attention.

It's the mental stimulation that people don't seem to do, it's more than long walks etc.

It's a really common cross in rescue. They can look like labs, but the collie half invariably comes from a working bred dog and collie-ish traits like herding can emerge. Some, however do just turn out like nice, fit labs:)

I collected a five month old lab collie today to go to rescue. He's had three homes already, through no fault of his own and he also looked for all the world like a lovely working lab.

I’ve had 3...all completely different, in every way tbh, size, appearance, temperament and energy levels...

Though they all had the lab appetite right enough.
